The Federal Reserve Board asked for comment on two proposals under the GENIUS Act: issuers it supervises must back every token with short-term Treasury bills and similar assets, and hold capital against the operational and credit risk of doing so. CFTC staff updated its crypto-asset FAQ: a futures broker or clearinghouse may invest customer funds in tokenized Treasuries and government money funds, provided the token carries the same rights as the traditional form and sits with an acceptable depository.   2. 24 Sep 2026 UK banks settle in tokenised deposits. Barclays, HSBC UK, Lloyds, Monzo, Nationwide, NatWest and Santander completed the first live customer transactions in tokenised sterling deposits, two remortgage completions and a marketplace purchase, on the shared platform UK Finance convened.   3. 22 Sep 2026 Treasury counts stablecoin issuers as a structural buyer. Before the Treasury Market Conference, the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury put stablecoin issuers' holdings of Treasury bills and near-maturity Treasuries at nearly $200 billion and said their growth matters more than what they hold today. Treasury lists them among the structural sources of bill demand it monitors, beside banks, money market funds and the Federal Reserve: the reserve side of the supply this site reads every day. Source
  4. 17 Sep 2026 SEC defines a tokenized stock. The SEC issued an exemption letting venues trade tokenized NMS stock through automated market makers, and defined a tokenized stock as one carrying the same dividends, votes and residual claim as the share, which is the rights test the stocks page applies.   5. 4 Sep 2026 Korea sets a tokenization roadmap. Korea's Financial Services Commission set a three-phase roadmap: tokenized securities gain legal recognition on 4 February 2027, then every publicly offered security may be issued as tokens, then on-chain payment linked to stablecoins. Source

  8. 18 Jul 2025 GENIUS Act signed. The President signed S. 1582, the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act, the first federal law regulating payment stablecoins and the reserves behind them. Source
  9. 20 Mar 2024 BlackRock launches BUIDL. BlackRock's first tokenized fund, the USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund, launched on Ethereum through Securitize: a money-market fund whose shares are tokens, paying its yield as new tokens each day. Source
