Which blockchains hold the assets
On 29 September 2026, Ethereum mainnet held 49.6% of the $26.2B market on its own, and 57.39% once the 8 rollups that settle to it are counted with it. The other 40 chains hold the rest, and the largest of them are below.

Ethereum mainnet is not the Ethereum ecosystem
Every published figure, including the table above, reports Arbitrum, Base, zkSync Era and Optimism as chains beside Ethereum. They settle to it. Rolled up to the layer they settle to, the picture is:
| Settles to | Family value | Share | Layer itself | Added by L2s | L2s |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ethereum | $15.0B | 57.39% | 49.61% | 7.78% | 8 |

How we know
A chain rolls up only when its settlement layer is sourced from that chain's own documentation, never inferred from its name; anything unsourced sits in the unclassified row (3.63% today). Polygon stays its own row on purpose: it checkpoints to Ethereum rather than settling to it, and whether it belongs is a judgement, not a fact.
Assets that changed home chain
Anyone still watching the old chain is watching the minority of the asset and calling it the whole. These moved their largest holding within the last 365 days:
| Asset | Was | Now | Total value | Old chain holds | New chain holds | Missed by the old view |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spiko | Arbitrum | Stellar | $2.65B | 19.9% | 63.1% | $2.12B |
| BlackRock BUIDL | Ethereum | Solana | $2.25B | 19.8% | 42.9% | $1.80B |
| OpenEden TBILL | Ethereum | Binance | $295M | 7.0% | 85.8% | $274M |
